The Seattle Seahawks made only a few appearances on Monday Night Football in their early years. On their way to a 9-7 season in 1979, Seattle appeared on Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons, and offered the national television audience what sportscaster Howard Cosell called "a lesson in creative football".

Head coach Jack Patera opened the Seahawk's playbook wide, and came up with some of the trickiest trick plays anyone had ever seen!
