After their first seven years with only two winning seasons and no playoff appearances, the Seattle Seahawks landed a wildcard playoff berth in 1983. The Seahawks had improved greatly under new head coach Chuck Knox, and had benefited from the running of rookie Curt Warner.

Seattle met their arch rivals the Denver Broncos on December 24, 1983 in their first ever playoff game in Seattle's kingdome. In this video, legendary sportscaster Charlie Jones and Hall of Famer Bob Greise do the telecast's introduction.
