The Seattle Seahawks lost starting cornerback Brandon Browner to a severe groin injurie a couple of weeks ago. Now, his back up Walter Thurmond has apparently been suspended for four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Thurmond, now in his fourth year out of Oregon, had a breakout game against the Vikings last week, returning an interception for a touchdown. His suspension, although it has not been officially announced by the Seahawks, would leave the team thin in the defensive backfield.

Cornerbacks Byron Maxwell and Jeremy Lane will be called upon to play for Thurmond during the four-game suspension.
