How do school officials keep kids safe in a violent situation? How do officials deal with a bully? Two of the many questions that were answered during a school safety summit held at YV Tech Thursday.

David Goehner with ESD 105 says they not only talked about the action that administrators can take in an emergency but also, “Physical things that can people that can be done to school buildings ... locks and security plans and technology that would allow administrators to see where people are in a building.”

Goehner says school and law enforcement are working together and will take the ideas learned at the summit back to school districts throughout the region. School officials have the option to implement a portion or all of the suggestions given to keep kids safe.
