School Construction Set to Begin in Selah

All the planning is complete and soon construction will begin for the Selah School District. . Last year voters approved a 30 million dollar bond issue..add 19 million dollars in state matching funds and you have a nearly 50 million dollar construction project. Selah Superintendent Shane Backland says the first phase is expansion of the high school, adding 6 new classrooms and a new gym.  The second phase of the construction project will be a brand new middle school for grades six through eight.  Selah School Superintendent Shane Backland says "the high school expansion will be completed next summer in time for the 2014-15 school year and construction of the new middle school will start this summer and will be finished by December of 2014." It's a new 6 through 8 middle school. He says construction on phase one begins Monday.
