Chances are if you are married and a KIT listener you have been married for a while now.  Think back to those first few years of courtship.  Think you would have shared all the details of those first relationship milestones on Facebook - if it existed at the time?  Maybe not?  Well, they sure are doing it today and according to researchers it pays off in stronger longer relationships.Today it seems most of us on social media knows at least one couple that is constantly sharing photo of themselves and posting about how wonderful their other half is.  It may have raised your eyebrow, it may have earned you an elbow in the ribs along with a “what am I chopped liver” response.  Heal fast and pay attention--science says they may actually be on to something.

Researchers tracked nearly 200 college students on Facebook, and discovered that posting pictures of each other and writing on each other's walls is the best measure of relationship success for newer couples.

Study authors say this probably stems from something called the public commitment theory in that the claims people make about themselves in public are likely to become internalized about what they think about themselves. In other words, by saying it public we become who we claim to be.

So get on line and give the old goat a compliment or remind the world she’s still your best gal…it’s a win/win for all!.
