I've lost just shy of 150 pounds after having successful bariatric surgery last year. I achieved another one of my goals after a visit with my primary physician on Tuesday.

I have to say that I'm really enjoying the results of Lap-Band surgery. I've taken off nearly 150 pounds, have so much more energy, and now I'm wearing the size of pants that I haven't been in since college.

Wearing skinny jeans was never my goal when I went on this journey. It was more about improving my health and prolonging my life. My youngest son is two and a half, so I figure I need to be around a long time.

After a quick check up with my doctor Tuesday, he determined that I no longer needed to be on high blood pressure medicine, something I've been on for over a decade. The medicine I was on wasn't expensive, but I will save a few bucks a year. I'm more excited that I've improved my health to the point that I don't need it anymore. I've greatly reduced my risk for a stroke or a heart attack.

Like I said before, another goal met. It might not seem like a big deal to you, but it's huge to me!
