I am pretty much done with the “selfie” phenomenon. I know I’m in the minority but it isn’t the first time. Look around and you’ll see selfies are commonplace these days but for all the alleged fun, there is a downside – unless you’re a dentist!

For example, dentists in Britain are getting an increase in the number of patients seeking treatment for what they mistake for "horsey" teeth. (insert British bad teeth joke here)

Experts say it’s a perception problem and that the phones or cameras can distort the two front teeth in a photo, or the photo can be taken from a strange angle, creating the illusion of buck teeth that aren't really there. (hello wilburrr)

The London Smile Clinic has seen the demand for treatment to correct the "horsey" teeth climb 30 %! (The Telegraph)
