A classic music video for your Saturday morning!

In 1984, singer Bob Geldof became alarmed about a devastating famine in the East African nation of Ethiopia. Along with Midge Ure of the group Ultravox, Geldof wrote the song "Do They Know It's Christmas?". It was recorded by an all-star group of pop and rock acts from the United Kingdom collectively known as Band Aid.

The song was released in Nov. 1984, and was an instant hit.

Early in 1985, a collection of American artists recorded their answer to the British effort, "We Are the World." The song was released in March 1985, and was a huge success.
