In a press release this morning, it was announced that the Sand Ridge wildfire is now 100% contained.

The fire, which occurred eight miles east of Bickleton in Klickitat County, started on Aug. 20. The cause of the fire was a lightning strike.

An alert to mobilize was given at 7:00 a.m. on Aug. 21. There were a total of 120 people sent to fight the fire.

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources still lists most of central Washington as very high or extreme in regards to fire danger.
