It's a familiar sound. The sound of a Salvation Army bell and you’ll be hearing it a lot now until Christmas. The Red Kettle campaign kicked off yesterday in Yakima. You'll find bell ringers at more than 24 businesses around the valley. Capt. Jack Smith with the Yakima Salvation Army says he hopes people give from the heart.

Last year the Salvation Army helped thousands of needy people in the valley because you helped donate more than One Hundred Thousand dollars to the kettle campaign, and this year with your spare change or dollars they hope to raise even more to help more people in Yakima County. The campaign continues through December 24th. If you'd like to volunteer to be a bell ringer contact the Yakima Salvation Army.
