Washington State has spent many years and many, many millions of dollars on Salmon recovery efforts and it’s working according to a new report from the Governor’s Salmon Recovery Office.

The report says more salmon are returning home in some areas, but significant work remains to be done.

“The newly released State of Salmon in Watersheds Executive Summary and interactive Web site show Washington’s progress in trying to recover the 15 populations declared as at risk of extinction by the federal government and listed under the Endangered Species Act”

The numbers prove salmon recovery is good for both fish and folks creating nearly 7,500 jobs and generated $763 million in economic activity in the past year and a half.
