Two people are in Yakima Regional Hospital after the flatbed truck they were in rolled over on Highway 97.

The driver, 62-year-old Robert Weimer, was driving northbound on the highway just south of Toppenish when he drifted onto the shoulder. He quickly tried to correct the vehicle but in doing so caused the GMC truck he was driving to rollover with the truck ending up on its wheels.

Weimer and the 18-year-old passenger Jackson McKenzie were transported to Yakima Regional.

Washington State Patrol officers believe the cause was driver fatigue.

The vehicle was considered totaled.
