The fight against the Rock Creek fire continues Today. Spokesman Howard Hunter says the fire is now at 1,107 with 25 percent containment. The fire burning on the Naches Ranger District started on Saturday in the Rock Creek Drainage East of State Route 410. He says the fire was very active on Wednesday night with a wind challenging firefighters that helped to spread the fire. More than 400 firefighters remain on the fire lines Today. A level 1 evacuation notice (i.e. be prepared to leave the area) remains in effect for people residing east of State Route 410 from just South of Cliffdell to Forest Road 1701.
