Roadwork Continues For Yakima Expect More Delays

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the section of North 1 Street between I Street and R Street from Monday, August 27 through Thursday, August 30 while a grind and overlay paving project is underway.

City of Yakima crews will be working those days in the southbound lanes of North 1 Street from 5:30 am to 4:00 pm.

During the project, only one southbound lane will be open at any given time and use of the turn lane in the project area will be prohibited. Both northbound lanes are expected to remain open throughout the project.

If possible, motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes until the project is completed.

As always, the schedule for street and traffic projects is subject to change daily, dependent on weather, equipment failure and emergencies.
