Gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna made a stop in Yakima today for a fundraiser with New Mexico governor Susana Martinez the first female Hispanic Governor in the United States. Martinez and McKenna spoke with reporters at the Yakima Airport during a press conference this morning. McKenna told reporters New Mexico is facing some of the same challenges as Washington State. McKenna, who's made more than 50 visits to the valley as the State Attorney General is facing, among other candidates Democrat Jay Inslee to replace Governor Christine Gregoire who's retiring. McKenna is holding a private fundraiser in Yakima later today.
