People from the 14th District wanting to talk with their state lawmakers will have an opportunity to do so next week. Reps. Charles Ross and Norm Johnson will be hosting a telephone town hall discussion Wednesday, Feb. 13 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. “Our district is very large, and it’s easier for more people to touch base with us over the phone than by trying to attend traditional town hall meetings, which parents of young children and senior citizens may not be able to attend,” said Ross, R-Naches. “I hope many people can join us for the discussion and bring thoughtful questions and suggestions for the challenges our state faces. To join the conversation, participants can call toll-free (877) 229-8493 then enter pin number 15502. “It is important for people to know how their Legislature is responding to the issues that could affect them,” said Johnson, R-Yakima. “Citizen input is vital to the legislative process. We vote on behalf of the people we represent. That’s why we want to hear from our 14th District residents. So we encourage everyone to join in our community conversation.”  The 2013 legislative session in Olympia began Jan. 14 and is scheduled to last 105 days.
