The 14th District Republican has declared his candidacy for the post of Yakima County Auditor that will come up for election this fall, and explains why he's seeking the post.

The current auditor, Corky Holloway is retiring at the end of her current term, and will not seek reelection. Ross is the first candidate of any party to officially announce his intention to run for that job.

Ross, 42, cited a desire to spend more time with his family as one reason he's running for auditor. He's served in the state legislature for 8 years, having served on the Naches town council for 10 years before that.

On Wednesday's Mike Bastinelli show, Ross more fully explained his desire to become county auditor, and what he hopes to achieve if elected.
