Those are among the conclusions about marijuana reached by a federal advisory panel in a recently released report. The experts also called for a broader national effort to find out more about marijuana and its chemical cousins.

There is a federally controlled limit on marijuana research and CBS News reports the current lack of scientific information "poses a public health risk,". The report was released by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine which concluded patients, health care professionals and policy makers need more evidence to make sound decisions.
