CHEHALIS  (AP) — Authorities say they're looking into the possibility that human remains found in the Cowlitz River may be those of a missing fisherman.

Prathana Nammavong, a 43-year-old man from Des Moines, went missing while fishing in January. The Lewis County Sheriff's Office says that on Wednesday afternoon, anglers on a guide boat called to report that they had seen what appeared to be fishing waders caught on a branch in the water near a boat launch in Toledo.

Deputies responded and found the remains. The guide boat helped recover them and bring them to shore.

The sheriff's office and Lewis County coroner are investigating.
