SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The Board of Regents of Washington State University has met to evaluate the qualifications of applicants to become next president of the school.

The regents took no action at the meeting, held Wednesday in Seattle.

The regents have said they hope to make a decision by April on a president to replace Elson Floyd, who died last year.

The names of all the applicants are being kept secret, but the selection committee has said there are eight finalists for the job. They include four current university presidents, three provosts and one person from the private sector.
