Diners at the Red Robin Saturday saw a lot of law enforcement as the annual Tip-A-Cop event occurred at the restaurant.

The event is a fundraiser for Yakima Special Olympics athletes so they can participate in athletic events in the region throughout the year.

Police told KNDO News before the event that they are happy no matter how much money they raise for disabled athletes.

"We don't really put a goal on it, we're just happy with what the folks bring us because it all goes to a great cause, but we'll find ourselves generally in the three to $4,500 mark," said Lieutenant Mike Merryman.

Officers raised more than $3,000 in 2012. They have not released the final totals from this year's event.

This is one of the biggest fundraisers that bring awareness to disabled athletes and the Yakima Special Olympics.
