The Yakima Farmers Market broke a record May 20 for largest number of vendors. With a total of 68 vendors at the market, they have nearly doubled the record of 37 set last year.

One vendor reported sales of over $800, and first-time vendors say business is booming. Jenny Villa, owner of Xochimilco restaurant, spoke with our news partner KIMA Action News, "We're a new Mexican business here in Yakima and we just want to be a part of the farmers market to promote our business, and to also be a part of the community."

Organizers say the variety of products sold is also expanding with more local artists selling their work.
