Seattle made a blockbuster trade for the Vikings' Percy Harvin, acquired free agent defensive linemen Cliff Avril from Detroit and Michael Bennett from the Buccaneers and cornerback Antoine Winfield from Minnesota. They also shipped back up quarterback Matt Flynn to Oakland for draft picks, signing Brady Quinn and re-signing Josh Portis to compete to back up Russell Wilson. All off season moves by the Seahawks to improve on last years 11-5 team that almost made it to the NFC Championship game.

Most sports websites like CBS Sports, ESPN, and NFL.com rate the Seahawks in the top 5 in their pre-season power rankings. They point to the development of Russell Wilson, and the previously mentioned player moves as a reason they rank the Seattle so high.
