Rally Set For Tuesday In Downtown Yakima

A rally is set for this afternoon in Yakima. The Yakima Valley Latin Leaders for Change organization wants the Yakima City Council to withdraw the request for a stay in the current elections in the voting rights case and move ahead under the newly created system. The city has asked for the stay until the U.S. Supreme Court rules in a Texas voting rights case that could impact the Yakima case.
Today's rally is set to start at 4:30 p.m. at Performance Park in downtown Yakima.
Those planning to attend will meet at the park and then walk over to city hall to speak to the council during the open public comment time at the city council meeting. The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m.
