There is room for optimism regarding the long awaited remodel of the Yakima School Districts Zaepfel Stadium. A public forum will be held tonight (Thursday) at Davis High School's new commons.  The Yakima School Board and representatives from KDF Architecture will unveil there plans for the first phase of renovation.

The school district has been criticized by some for allowing the 50 year old stadium to get to its current state.  Any renovation plans were shelved when the bids for the new Eisenhower High School came in higher than expected. The school board is considering renovations in phases. The first phase would include new field turf, a new track and new lighting.  The second phase would include improvements to bathrooms, concessions and the press box.

School officials would also like to have new locker rooms built, but at this point that is not included in the plans.  The forum is set for 7  o'clock tonight (Thursday) at the Davis High School commons.
