Professional Therapists Happy With Police Action

Kerry Murphy is a licensed massage practitioner in Yakima who's happy police raided 6 Asian massage parlors in Yakima last weekend. Murphy says despite what some may think professional massage is considered a medical profession. She says many therapists work closely with local health providers. "A client may be seeing a chiropractor and a Naturopathic doctor and massage and physical therapist to get treatment for many issues." She says the news of the Asian massage parlors is a concern in the industry because it reflects upon those who work hard as professional massage therapists.
Police continue to investigate the Asian massage parlors. 7 people were arrested last Saturday and face charges in Yakima County Superior Court.
