The city of Yakima saw big crowds at the Viva la Música 2014 concert series at Miller Park so they're doing it again this year. In fact in a news release from the city the series is being expanded significantly for its sophomore season this year. The release reads..."The 2015 Viva la Música Concert Series will feature ten shows on consecutive Sundays from July 12th through September 13th. All of the performances will take place at Miller Park. Leopardo Salvaje will open this year’s Viva la Música Concert Series on July 12th. Los Pumas de Jalisco will take to the Viva la Música stage on July 19th. On July 26th, the featured act at Miller Park will be Enamorados. The first Viva la Música Concert Series show in August will be on August 2nd and will showcase Principio de Tierra Caliente. The August 9th performance will feature Banda Reyna del Sur, the August 16th show will be headlined by Grupo Antifaz, and on August 23rd, Chikos de la Banda will be on stage. The last show in August will be on August 30th and will welcome Hermanos Gonzalez to the Viva la Música Concert Series. The September 6th show will bring Sinceridad de Sierra to Yakima. The performances in July and August, along with the September 6th show, will all begin at 5:00 pm and last until about 7:00 pm. The shows are free and families are encouraged to bring picnic dinners to Miller Park. The final performance of the 2015 Viva la Música Concert Series will take place on September 13th and run from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The show will feature special music celebrating Mexico’s Independence Day (September 16th). Three different bands will perform during the September 13th show – Rebeldes de la Sierra, Corazon de Tierra Caliente, and Banda Centenario. “The audiences for last year’s shows grew and grew as the series progressed,” said Yakima Parks & Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson. “We knew that we were providing the kind of event and the types of performances that were wanted in Yakima. Based on the positive feedback we got last year, we were confident in designing an even bigger and better 2015 Viva la Música Concert Series,” said Wilkinson."
