ELLENSBURG, Wash.  Poor air quality in the Kittitas Valley has prompted the Central Washington University athletic department to move its home football game against Humboldt State University this Saturday, September 29, from the CWU campus to Bothell, Washington. Kickoff as also been moved to 6:00 p.m. This is the second straight Wildcat home game that CWU has moved to Pop Keeney Stadium.

“We had a fantastic turnout last Saturday when we played Azusa Pacific there,” said Jack Bishop, CWU athletics director, “and we hope to see even more fans this Saturday. We hate to have to move the game, but the forecast is for poor air quality and we just won’t subject our players, their players, or the fans to that.”

Pop Keeney Stadium is the Northshore School District’s 4,500-seat stadium, which is home to the Bothell, Inglemoor, and Woodinville high school football teams. A total of 2,300 hundred fans were in attendance last Saturday, when the Wildcats beat Azusa Pacific 41-17.
