Two candidates for separate political offices are in town today (Tuesday), addressing students at their respective alma maters and meeting informally with the public late this afternoon.

Yakima native Phillip Yin, running for lieutenant governor, and Eric Geary, who's seeking the District 1 seat on the Yakima County Board of Commissioners, will be at Tieton Cider Works, 619 W. J St.,  from 4:30-6:30 p.m. to meet and greet local voters.

Both spoke at Eisenhower High School and Naches Valley High School earlier today. Yin is an Ike graduate, while Geary is a Naches Valley graduate.

This afternoon's gathering is free and open to the public.
