Yakima Police say they're developing leads and talking to witnesses hoping to make an arrest in the fatal shooting of 27-year-old David Amezcua at a Yakima convenience store Saturday afternoon. Spokesman Mike Bastinelli says detectives traveled to Seattle Tuesday following up on leads to make an arrest. He says the fact that the shooting happened in the daytime helped investigators because they were able to talk to witnesses at the scene. "We don't have a suspect at this time but the fact that it happened during the day gives us more eyes as to what happened." Plus Bastinelli says officers were also able to speak to a passenger in Amezcua's vehicle. Bastinelli says since the shooting Saturday afternoon several drive by shootings have been reported on both Sunday and Monday. No injuries have been reported. Bastinelli says they believe the shootings could be related to Saturday's homicide.
