Police Reports Man Killed in Gang-related Shooting

KENNEWICK (AP) — Police say a 20-year-old man was killed in a gang-related shooting outside an apartment complex in Kennewick.

The Tri-City Herald reports Jorge Antonio Jimenez was shot in the abdomen and leg Monday night when he confronted two people carving their gang insignia into the paint of his truck.

Kennewick police are looking for two males seen running north through the complex.

After Jimenez was shot, friends helped him upstairs to his apartment where he died before police and paramedics arrived.

Kennewick Sgt. Ken Lattin says at least a dozen shots were fired with a handgun and at least two bullets hit the victim.

Conflicts have been ongoing between at least two rival gangs in the Tri-Cities area, police said.
