Police Following Leads in Union Gap Child Shooting Death
Union Gap Police are looking for anyone who may have seen two vehicles pull in front of the West Ahtanum Road address where a 10-year-old boy was shot and killed early Sunday morning.
Union Gap police received a tip from an anonymous source that said "two large cars but not SUVs" drove on to the shoulder of the road between 12:50 and 1:00 a.m. adjacent to the drive way at 1815 West Ahtanum Road.
Nathaniel Reedy-McCoy was struck in the chest by a gunshot at some point between the time the two vehicles arrived and 1:20 a.m. The boy was standing outside the home with his grandfather when he was hit.
Reedy-McCoy was transported to a Yakima hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police are still trying to find out if the shooting was an accident or a criminal act.
