It's back to the drawing board for police and firefighters here in Yakima after the city rejected their latest contract proposal. Our news partner KIMA Action News reports the unions will meet with the city to try to find an agreement. The City Council said there isn't enough money to support the proposals. The firefighters say they've taken pay cuts and freezes for the past three years.

"Very, very frustrated,” said Jeremy Rodriguez, president of the Yakima Firefighter Association. “We feel very strongly this contract was a win for all parties involved, from the citizens to the city as well as for the firefighters."

An arbitrator will be brought in if the two sides can't reach an agreement.
