Thursday is flag day in the USA. Planning is underway for one of the biggest celebrations of freedom in the valley. Planning has started for the big 4th of July celebration at State Fair Park. Verlynn Best President of the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce and a member of the 4th of July planning committee says she's hoping Yakima is red white and blue for the 4th of July. "That's the time the time our flags should be waving all over every neighbor and every business representing the freedoms and independence this nations was founded on."
Best says before you attend the celebration at State Fair Park get out your flag and show your pride on the 4th of July. The 27th annual 4th of July Celebration at State Fair Park starts at Noon with activities and a big fireworks show Saturday night. Parking is free.
On behalf of the 4th of July committee The Morning News on KIT will be giving away flags days before the 4th of July. Stay tuned.
