Planning A Wedding In 2015? Trying To Save Money?

2015 is a special year for a lot of people in the Yakima Valley who are getting married. Ilene Weresch is the owner of Cascade Garden in Yakima a place where hundreds of weddings have been held and more are planned this year. The average cost of U.S. weddings is $29,000 but Weresch says many couples in Yakima spend $10,000 or less. And she says the latest trend is to not spend money on a professional photographer. Something she calls a big mistake. "They have a friend or a friend of a friend photograph the wedding and they're super disappointed." She says while the food and venue is important skimping on the photographer and getting bad pictures is something you'll have to live with the rest of your life.
According to the website costofwedding.com most couples in Yakima County (45%) spend an average of $10,000 for a wedding.
The Central Washington Bridal Show was held over the weekend at the Yakima Convention center.
