The team and local Baskin-Robbins owners Dawn Charboneau have partnered to bring The Scoop to The Orchard. The Scoop will feature a rotation of Baskin-Robbins award-winning 31 flavors (not all of them every game!), scoop ice cream cones, waffle cones, root beer floats, and frozen blended coffees at a new concessions location located directly behind home plate, next to the Big Apple. Baskin-Robbins will serve as the official ice cream and blended coffee of the Yakima Valley Pippins.

“We had the baseball, the apple (pie), and now the ice cream to complete the All-American ballpark experience,” said Pippins president Zachary Fraser. “We are excited to work with Dawn and her team to continue to look for ways to make the fan experience at The Orchard a memorable one.
“I am excited that it is a pair of locally owned branches that we get to work with.”
Jose Lopez and the Lopez family own and operate the Baskin-Robbins located on Summitview Avenue in Yakima.
The Scoop will open for the first time at The Orchard on Friday, July 3rd as the Pippins welcome division rival Walla Walla Sweets for a key division battle. Northwest Cherries will be giving away 2015 team posters to the first 1,000 fans, and fireworks will follow the game.
ABOUT BASKIN-ROBBINS: The Baskin-Robbins at 816 Summitview Ave. was the first Baskin-Robbins in Yakima, built in 1970. The store was owned by Linda and Larry Kirkpatrick, when the Lopez family purchased the franchise. Dawn, Jose’s wife, worked for Linda for more than a decade before purchasing the store, and have taken pride in making it a family-friendly part of the community. The creation of The Scoop is another step in working to be a part of key events around the Valley. Baskin-Robbins enjoys serving the best ice cream and having a little fun with it at the same time.
