Pipe Bomb Found Tuesday In Yakima Neighborhood

Yakima Police say about 20 homes were evacuated on Tuesday night after someone found a pipe bomb in the 900 block of south 23rd Avenue. Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says the Explosives Ordinance Disposal Team from the Yakima Training Center was called. Bastinelli says the team was able to safely diffuse the device, which was found to contain a highly flammable substance.
No arrests were made.
Yakima Police are working on the investigation with members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
