Wednesday is a National Day of Action an event organized by Working Washington the people who want to raise the minimum wage to $15 in the State of Washington. About 50 people rallied in front of the McDonalds at First Street and Yakima Avenue. People like Anthony Orozco of Yakima who when asked about the concern that a higher wage could close businesses and cut jobs told KIT News. That's the economy. That's the way it works. But there's always going to be the need for the certain jobs that people need to be paid for and there not going to go away because people need to be paid more. The lone counter protestor at the rally today was Sandy Brendale. She says "it's basic economics. You increase the income 50% your going to decrease the jobs by as much." The rally is Yakima was part of a larger event happening in downtown Seattle as part of the National Day of Action.
