SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A Pasco man has been sentenced to life in federal prison after a jury convicted him of murder related to drug trafficking.

U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, Michael Ormsby, said in a Wednesday news release that 28-year-old Domingo Valdovinos was convicted of murder in connection with a drug-trafficking conspiracy. He was also given two 30-year prison terms for methamphetamine-trafficking offenses.

Court documents say someone with the initials D.W. was lured to a Spokane residence Feb. 28, 2014 under the guise of resolving a drug debt. The victim was then beaten by Valdovinos and others with baseball bats, tied up and driven to a remote location where he was fatally doused with gasoline, shot and set on fire.

Multiple agencies investigated and determined Valdovinos was the leader of a meth-trafficking ring with ties to Washington, Mexico, North Dakota and Idaho.
