An overnight fire caused $300,000 in damages to a home on Occidental Road.

The fire started about 2:40 a.m. on the 7800 block of Occidental, according to the Yakima Fire Department, and when firefighters arrived, the attached garage was engulfed in flames -- along with three vehicles, two small watercraft and a trailer.

Twenty-eight firefighters fought the fire, which took 15 minutes to contain. Investigators remained on the scene for three hours to determine the cause.

No one was in the home at the time of the fire.

The three vehicles and two watercraft were destroyed. There was also severe damage to the garage, living area and attic of the home.

Initial reports indicated there were explosions in the house before firefighters arrived.
