When a new governor takes office in Washington State, it's almost a given that there will be changes to the cabinet. The Jay Inslee administration announced one of those changes yesterday with the news that Agriculture Department Director Dan Newhouse would not be re-appointed.

Newhouse, a former Republican state representative, was appointed to his position by former governor Christine Gregoire, a Democrat.

Newhouse was a guest on Tuesday's Mike Bastinelli show. He talked about his tenure in office, why he thinks he was not retained, and what the future of agriculture might be in our state.

Inslee has appointed former Okanogan County Commissioner Bud Hover, a Republican, to replace Newhouse.
