Open House Monday At Yakima Union Gospel Mission Clinic

The Yakima Union Gospel Mission will hold a grand opening of the newly expanded medical care center Monday.  Mission Director Rick Phillips says the new clinic will allow them to serve more people every year. "Last year we provided over 14,000 patient visits which really does put us in that category of being the largest free clinic provider."
He says the clinic will serve a lot of those without medical coverage. a majority of the staff at the clinic volunteer their time. It's estimated some 39,000 people in Yakima County are without health insurance.
Today the community is invited to the open house at the new clinic at 1300 North 1st Street from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
