Girl Scout cookie lovers in Eastern Washington and Idaho will have to buy cookies from Girl Scouts in person and not online despite a new digital cookie webpage being announced this week.

Product Sales Manager Kelly Thompson says because there is a difference in sales tax rates between the two states, Girl Scouts in Idaho and Eastern Washington will wait until next year for online sales. She says the digital cookie will play only a small part in sales, a majority of the cookies will still be sold the traditional way of door to door.

The digital cookie will give customers a chance to pay online and be notified when the cookies are available.
