One man is dead and a second is in custody after a Friday night argument in front of the Airline Market,1002 W. Washington Ave., turned deadly.

Union Gap police report the two got into an altercation around 6:45 p.m. and one of them walked back to his car, grabbed a shotgun and fired a single shot that struck the second man in the face. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later in a local hospital, authorities say.

The suspect is in custody, according to police. A number of bystanders witnessed the shooting and helped police identify the suspect, who was quickly arrested near the scene of the killing.

So far, no information is being released about either man, but Union Gap Police Chief Greg Cobb thinks the shooting could be gang-related.
