As we zero in on Mother’s day, Web MD posted a question and answer for moms and daughters—“Q: Why do mother-daughter conversations often seem so complex and explosive?

A: Women talk more than men. Talk is the glue that holds a relationship together. But the more you talk, the more chance there is to put your foot in it. And unlike men, women love to exchange secrets and talk about their troubles. So women make themselves more vulnerable. “If any of those conversations include what could be called “nagging by mom” it’s probably a good thing.

There is a British study finds that girls with nagging moms will probably grow up to be more successful than their peers with less pushy moms.

Researchers followed more than 15,000 girls between the ages of 13 and 14 and found that those who had moms who pushed them to work harder were more likely to go to college and earn high salaries. (Good Housekeeping)
