Officials Still Gathering Information on Motel Shooting

KIT

Yakima Police are searching for suspects and information in a shooting at the Red Apple motel in Yakima Friday night.

26-year-old Joshua Mathis was found in the parking lot shot multiple times.

Capt. Rod Light says he died at a Yakima hospital. “We’re talking with potential witnesses and searching for a suspect.”

Light says the motel has had problems with drugs and other crime so police are wondering what Mathis was doing at the motel before he was shot multple times in the parking lot. No arrests have been made.

But Light says there were some witnesses so police hope to get possible suspect information from those who were at the scene Friday night.
