KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) — A Kennewick woman celebrated her 80th birthday with a 12,500-foot skydive.

The Tri-City Herald reports that Marian Roberts jumped out of a plane operated by West Plains Skydiving in Ritzville on Saturday. She had her 30-year-old granddaughter, Jen Roberts, with her, and that made the jump even more fun than her prior skydiving experience, 20 years ago.

Jen Roberts says her grandmother is a bit of an adrenaline junkie. She rode dirt bikes and parasailed into her 50s and 60s.

The birthday girl told the skydive instructors she wanted the jump to last as long as possible, and they obliged, allowing her to glide and move around in circles before landing safely.

Marian Roberts was enthusiastic about the experience, and said afterward, "Everyone should try it."
