NW Airlines Noted For On-Time Departures – Dave’s Diary

The Yakima City Council is working with the local airport staff to help raise local boardings a few percentage points so we can convince Alaska Air to put in another flight or two. So far so good: boardings are up. 

The idea is for Yakima to get a direct flight to Portland and to cut down the wait with limited flights to Seattle -- those two airports both have great on-time records.

Time magazine's "Best and Worst" report found Chicago’s two major airports scored the worst due to frequent delayed departures.

However, on the good side, the Pacific Northwest was great!  Salt Lake City International Airport ranked as the most punctual of American airports. Rounding out the top five spots are Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Portland International Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (both tied for third place), and Minneapolis-St. Paul International.
