Acknowledging Military History on November 10

Happy Birthday to the United States Marine Corps organized under authority of the Continental Congress in 1775

179 years later in 1954 the Iwo Jima Memorial was dedicated in Arlington, Virginia, showing a group of servicemen raising the U.S. flag on the Pacific island battlefield during World War Two.

28 Years after that in 1982, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial opened to the public.
